You don't have to give up roti to eat better. Here's how whole-wheat atta fits a healthy diet.

Fibre is your friend

Whole-grain atta keeps the bran, so a roti made from chakki atta has more fibre than one made from refined flour. Fibre slows digestion and helps you feel full for longer.

Portions still matter

  • Most adults do well with 1–2 rotis a meal
  • Fill half the plate with sabzi, daal or salad
  • Go easy on ghee and butter on top

Smart swaps

  • Add a spoon of ground chia or flax to the dough
  • Make thinner rotis rather than thick parathas
  • Choose roti over naan and refined bread
